ABC, Inc.

ABC, Inc. (name changed) is a logistics company with offices across the United States, primarily centered in the eastern portion of the country. The company had over 200 lines in corporate accounts spread across four national wireless carriers, plus also reimbursed many employees who had individual wireless accounts through employee expense accounts. Company executive management believed there might be serious shortcomings with this arrangement that were costing the company thousands in hard costs and more due to inefficiencies:

  • There was limited accounting for how many of the existing lines were actually company authorized AND how many of the lines were actually still in service
  • Calling plans were disparate and out-dated
  • There were multiple, separate accounts with the same carriers
  • No billing management system/reporting was in place for easy, ongoing management

Safari Telecom organized and executed a plan to collect important data about all the lines. All billing data was carefully collected and analyzed. Working with company management, a list of authorized users was established, as well as a list of phones actually in service.

Safari worked to cancel unnecessary lines, consolidate accounts, and negotiate with all the carriers to recommend alternative plan changes that could optimize the services. Safari then implemented these company-approved changes and assured that the carriers followed through on the change orders. Discussions continue regarding mobile data solutions the company may choose to implement to bolster productivity and further efficiencies.

The bottom line for ABC, Inc.

  • Monthly recurring costs were reduced from $15,294 to $8,477, a savings of $6,817 monthly and over $80,000 annually, or 44.5%
  • 235 lines were reduced to 187
  • Each line is now accounted for and visible to management
  • ABC, Inc. now receives better and uniform pricing on the purchase of necessary hardware
